I recently teamed up with speaker business consultant, Maria Franzoni, to create a series of short Zoom interviews exploring the impact of AI, future trends, and the exciting opportunities ahead.
AI is already making waves in filmmaking — from transcription and audio mixing to filling content gaps and even creating trailers. But it’s not there yet when it comes to nuanced storytelling and emotional depth. And let’s not forget the legal headaches, particularly around intellectual property rights.
I’ve seen predictions that AI-generated films might win major awards by 2026, but I’m sceptical. There are just too many creative and technical hurdles. We may see platforms generating fresh media on demand, maybe overtaking Netflix? (Think how Netflix killed Blockbuster.) Imagine: “Remake the Godfather as a comedy, but with Julia Roberts as the lead.” That future doesn’t seem too far off.
For me, the bigger issues are bias, privacy, and intellectual property, which need addressing sooner rather than later. But with tech sprinting ahead and ethics trailing behind, I’m not holding my breath.
What’s your opinion? Does this view resonate, or will it be wildly different?
